A preliminary study was conducted by CCRAS, New Delhi, India on
40 patients, using guggulu for a period of three months to evaluate changes in
all the fractions of lipid. At the end of three months, the percentage of average
fall was serum cholesterol 25.4% triglyceride 30%, phospholipid 21.5% and serum
free fatty acid 35.1%.
